St. Victor Catholic Elementary School

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) is pleased to offer the Grades 7 & 8 Summer Mathematics and Literacy Camp. Open to current Grade 7 & 8 students, our summer camp program addresses the needs of the students in reading, writing, numeracy and technology. It is also designed to help boost student self-confidence and self-worth, resulting in increased confidence in Grade 8 and/or a successful transition to secondary school. Students will participate in a variety of engaging, interactive and collaborative activities to help them to improve their skills in the following areas:

• Reading - Students will be exposed to a variety of text genres and will learn how to respond effectively to comprehension questions using a variety of reading strategies

• Writing - Students will learn how to write complex sentences, and well-developed and organized paragraphs

• Numeracy - The focus is on further developing computational fluency using a variety of strategies, and to review grades 7 & 8 Number Sense concepts

Dates: Our program is scheduled to take place in person from July 4-21, 2023 (9:00am-11:30am). 
Eligibility: Students currently in Grades 7 and 8. 
Registration Deadline: Friday, June 23rd, 2023.
